According to the international journal Military Medicine, massage therapy is a preferred choice among veterans. Recent veterans' studies show massage provides many benefits to military personnel.
Veterans studies pointing to the numerous benefits of complimentary therapies has moved the Army to begin establishing "interdisciplinary pain management centers" that bring together holistic practitioners, such as acupuncturists and massage therapists, in addition to the conventional treatments. Navy & Marine Corps Public Health Center states that massage therapy can significantly reduce pain such as low-back pain and neck pain, as well as relieve stress, depression, nausea, and regulate blood pressure.
