aromatherapy for a good night's rest: Adding Essential Oils to the Bath
- Be sure to use only high quality essential oils. Look for therapeutic-grade oils, and remember that you often get what you pay for.
- Only use a few drops! Essential oils are very powerful, concentrated compounds, so a very small amount will go a long way.
- Do not add directly to water. Essential oils must be added to an emulsifier first. Otherwise, they will just float around on top of the water. Mix the essential oils with a little bit of epsom salts, honey, grain alcohol, milk, or your favorite bubble bath, and then add to running water.
